ZT Fight Skool was the brainchild of Sol ‘Zero Tolerance’ Gilbert. Sol, previously a professional boxer began a fighting career in MMA way back in 2002. During that time Sol travelled the south to find good quality coaches and facilities to help him with his career. It was during this time that he decided it would be a good idea to create his own facility with top level instructors, equipment and facilities all under one roof – ZT Fight Skool was born.
As ZT Fight Skool developed so did our ‘Fighters’. In February 2006 the ZT team decided to bring professional MMA to Brighton by holding our own ZT Fight Night show in order to showcase the talents of our local fighters in front of local crowds. After rejections from the Brighton and Hove Council and bad press from The Argus, the sell-out show was moved to Copthorne Hotel and Resort near Crawley. Future shows excluded MMA style fights and featured Boxing and Hybrid Kickboxing bouts which were deemed acceptable by Brighton and Hove Council. These shows are held and Hove Town Hall and still take place today. The first ever ZT MMA show in Brighton was held at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Hotel on Saturday 30th August 2008.
We also wanted to provide a fitness only facility for our members to workout away from the combat environment so in February 2006 ZT Fitness was born. ZT Fitness caters for people who take their training seriously without the need for frills.
