Pro MMA

First up was the battle of the heavyweights, Paul Radford taking on Barry Lynch. Both were making their debut but not much sign of nerves here. Radford worked hard for the takedown but with strong underhooks, Lynch eventually managed to turn Radford into the cage and sink in a guillotine halfway through the first round.
Next up was a hybrid kickboxing bout between Kenshiro (ZT) and Nigel Yardey. Yardey starts the fight in his usual flamboyant way with jumping high kicks from one side of the cage to the other. Nothing lands and Kenshiro holds his ice cool composure, picking his shots and landing with much more conviction. From no where, Kenshiro lands a spinning backfist that echoes around the arena. The only way was down for Yardey and down he stayed whilst the medics eventually brought him round. First round KO for Kenshiro.
ZT's rising young star John Hathaway was next up taking on French Top Team fighter Ludovic Perez in a pro MMA fight. With his now famous 'Pick up, walk back to corner and slam down' technique, Hathaway launches into an impressive offensive from the top. Punches and elbows are rained down onto the Frenchman eventually causing him to turn and tap in the first round. Hathaway wins due to tapout from strikes.
ZT's first and only Boxing bout on the night was between King Conrad and Matt Lenton. A good performance by both fighters but Conrad landing more solid shots from the start gave him the win via a judges decision.
Next up was the highly anticipated fight between Wesley Felix and Dave Swann in this MMA bout. Both fighters came into the fight looking for the win and it was clear from the outset both fighters were intending to leave it all in the cage. Swann looked to have the upper hand in the standup and was also doing well on the ground but in a real to-and-fro bout, Felix caught Swann in a tight triangle in the third round. Felix wins via triangle choke.
The second French Top Team fighter Mikael Slomzynski faced up to Jack Magee in the next pro MMA bout. The tough Frenchman began by landing a clean solid jab on Magee to which was replied with a takedown from Magee. Working well from the top Magee lands a few hard shots, moves to mount and goes for an armbar. Slomzynski does well to escape the armbar but Magee quickly adjusts to secure the triangle in a slick display of ground skills. Magee wins via a triangle choke in the first round.
Next up was Geoff Hayes Vs Arelijus Kerpe from Lithuania. Hayes coming off a disqualification loss a few months ago had a point to prove tonight. A slug fest ensued and both fighters looked well matched in this pro MMA fight. Kerpe landed a solid couple of elbows in the second and ZT front man refused to let Hayes come out for the third round. Kerpe wins via corner stoppage.
The main event saw Ryan 'The Great' White take on Michael Kita from the Gorilla Academy. Lets get one thing straight here, White is popular guy in his hometown of Brighton and he has a fanbase to match. As you can imagine, the atmosphere was electric and White's dramatic entrance to the arena sent the fans nuts. White coming off a previous loss in this very same venue had a point to prove and looked focused for this fight.
Kita had a win in mind though and sent the White fans home in disappointment after reversing a good takedown from White, gaining top position, landing hard strikes and eventually submitting White with a rear naked choke shortly into the first round.
Overall, ZT Fight Night 4 was a huge success with a good display of talent from all over the world. ZT fighters did well overall and acted as a good showcase of skill for the now famous ZT Fight Skool.
